Healing Practices of Christian Zamboangueños Acquired from Their Subanon Ancestors

The study entitled “Healing Practices of Christian the Christian Zamboangueños Acquired from Their Subanon Ancestors” is qualitative research that utilized a structured interview in a local dialect. Study results revealed that the Christian Zamboangueños acquired four (4) traditional healing practices from their Subanon ancestors: Sahumada (Pausok or Patawas), Lana-lana (Healing Oil), Subada (hilot), and Herbal Medicines given externally or internally to the patient to cure various ailments. Despite their Christian faith, the Christian Zamboangueños learn the healing techniques from their Subanon ancestors and continuously practice to preserve their traditional beliefs.
